Accredited Community Safety Officers at an event

The Safer Havant Partnership meets once a month to look at issues that are occurring in particular areas and to work together to resolve these problems.  Locations are chosen through analysis of crime figures and by requests for help from other agencies.

February 2010

In January and February 2010 the Partnership will be focusing on the areas below:

  • Park Parade Shopping Centre and Dunsbury Way, where some incidents of anti-social behaviour and general nuisance have been taking place in the streets around this area.

  • Dunsbury Hill Farm area in Waterlooville North, where some reports of motorcycle nuisance have been reported.

  • London Road in Cowplain, where a number of local shops have been vandalised over the last month.

January 2010

In December 2009 and January 2010 the Partnership focused on the areas below:

  • Purbrook Chase Precinct, where there have been some reports of groups of people gathering outside shops, drinking and being verbally abusive.
  • The Waterlooville area, where a large number of tyres have been dumped on private land.  If you have any information about this issue please contact the police on 101 or report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
  • Park Parade Shopping centre and Dunsbury Way, where some local residents have reported anti-social behaviour.  This issue was also raised at the last meeting and the Partnership visited blocks of flats affected by these issues to ask them to report incidents of anti-social behaviour.
  • Members of the partnership have also been giving advice on avoiding being a victim of crime over the Christmas period.

November 2009

In November and December 2009 the Partnership focused on the areas below:

  • St Albans Road in West Leigh, which has seen a rise in rowdy behaviour from groups of young people in the last month.
  • Park Parade Shopping Centre and Dunsbury Way in Battins, where some local residents have reported anti-social behaviour.
  • Hayling Island, which has recently seen a rise in criminal damage and arson, with a number of incidents of arson on beach huts over the last month.

The Partnership will be focusing some of their resources in these areas over the next month.  Partnership work will include ensuring that CCTV is focusing on these areas, tasking the Accredited Community Safety Officers to increase patrols in relevant location, organising leaflet drops and coordinating a letter drop to all beach hut owners.
